【「應影」美語：你會「小小兵」的英語嗎？】
《小小兵》電影超熱門，但我發現很多人不清楚小小兵的英文是什麼。這樣不行，先看完這一篇再買票！
小小兵就是 minions [ˋmɪnjənz] !
字典會說 minions 是「奴才」。差不多就是這個意思，但它也常有「爪牙」、大哥大的「小弟」的意思，會去處理他們跟隨的大人物不想處理的黑暗事情。
這類用法常常出現在電影裡，例如：
The godfather sent his minions to “take care of” that guy.
(教父派他的爪牙去「處理」那個家伙。)
The Joker’s minions failed to kill Batman.
(小丑的惡棍刺殺蝙蝠俠失敗。)
He sent his minions to collect the gambling debt.
(他派小弟去討賭債。)

這個字也可以形容大人物或明星身邊比較卑躬屈膝的助手或雇員：
The big star sent his minions to prepare his hotel room.
(大明星派他的跑腿小弟準備他的飯店房間。)

當然，一般的人說 minions, 通常是幽默、諷刺的說法：
Ooh, if you don’t stop messing with me, I will send my minions to go have a talk with you!
(嗚，如果你再繼續騷擾我，我會派我的「小弟」去跟你「聊一聊」！)
Bring me back a hamburger from McDonald’s, my minions!
(去麥當勞帶個漢堡回來給我吃，我的奴才！)
